"This is the absolute nice Southern cake recipe ever. A buddy of mine gave me this, and stated her momma from Georgia gave it to her. We call it 'Nasty Cake' because it's so precise, but has so many calories. This isn't always for the ones attempting to watch their weight! Use a deep cake pan."

Ingredients :

1 (18.25 ounce) box devil's food cake mix
half cup butter
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup mild corn syrup
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions :

Prepare batter and bake cake as directed at the package.
About 5 mins before the cake is finished baking, melt the butter in a huge saucepan to allow for foaming, and stir within the evaporated milk. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, and stir in the corn syrup and sugar. Bring returned to a boil, stir to dissolve sugar, turn off the heat, and add the baking soda. Stir constantly till the baking soda is jumbled together and prevents foaming, approximately 2 minutes.
Remove the cake from the oven, and poke holes in the hot cake with a butter knife or the give up of a wood spoon. Pour the syrup over the hot cake, and allow cool before reducing.
